Dockside Restaurant - Athens, Ontario

Don't let this photo fool you - this restaurant is a basic diner at best. My wife and I stopped in for breakfast recently and were greeted by a very nice waitress. As we were having our coffee and checking out the menu, the waitress placed another couple's order ... in the kitchen, to which the owner/cook responded with a couple of choice expletives! Apparently, his own breakfast was ready just as the order arrived. The owner, who is covered in tattoos, then proceeds to bring his breakfast out to the counter, stands by the cash area, dipping his toast in his eggs and chowing down as quickly as possible. After wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, he returned to the kitchen to start their order. Needless to say, we declined to place our breakfast order, laughed at the scenario and finished up our coffee to leave. Read more
