Montfort Mediterranean Cuisine - Ancaster, Ontario

Stopped in on our way through Canada my first experience with Mediterranean food. It was amazing! Hot and fresh, staff was amazing, very friendly and attentive. Will definitely stop again!

I had Monforts a few times before, but this was my first visit to this location. Must say glad I did. Upon entering, I felt welcomed, with a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. I came in for takeout, Dala was very nice and helpful with guiding me through what I had ... in mind, explaining different choices so that I made the best one for me and my family. As for the food, I ordered the deluxe mixed grill. I must say I was very impressed, and so were all that tried it. Everything was prepared well and tasted great. The Monforts chicken and chicken shawarma were juicy and delicious. My mom & sisters enjoyed the souvlaki lamb & lamb chops. The Kafta was my favorite overall; it was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and juicy. The fattoush salad was nice and refreshing. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food is excellent. Upon sitting down, there was a table of obnoxiously loud women laughing and giggling as they were drinking their wine. The entire restaurant was completely empty.. The server took our order. Everything was fine for some reason. She poured my drink into a glass which I did not ask and after ... our dinner came it came with the appetizers all at once with no dipping sauces or spoons to serve the sauce. After I asked for the sauce, I received an onion sauce and had a garlic sauce. Did not get any seafood sauce to go with our appetizers nor spoons to serve it. Had to ask. Not sure if this is new staff or new servers, but I have been going to mod forts my entire life. And have never been served it without dipping sauces or spoons right? I came in for take out and was met by Dala, so welcoming friendly and warm. I ordereda Greek Chicken Souvlaki dinner. Dala was so kind and engaged me with conversation while i waited. I left with a large bag that was generously full. The ... food was perfectly warm and they took care to put the Greek Salad in a separate container. That's how is should be done...most restaurants carelessly just group it all in one container making for a soggy mess. The chicken was perrrfect!!! Grilled and moist inside, the pita was warm, the potatoes and rice delicious!!! The last Montfort I visited was in Mississauga (Dundas/Hurontario). A disappointment. we order from here regularly and we were very happy for years, however they changed their portions without notice and I paid almost 50 dollars for 2 entree salads and it barely cuts it as a side. We got ripped off!!! less than half the size..We wont order from here ... again at this price...the photo attached is a 20 dollar salad. I'm glad it wasnt a larger or more expensive order, I would hate to see what other portions they sized down for the same price. very disappointed Read more
