Tokyo Sushi - Ajax, Ontario

Food is yummy and staff is very nice. Decent prices for sushi but the seating area is tiny and the wait times are long.

I would like to think of myself as well acquainted with good sushi. I enjoy going to Tatemomo in Whitby. Been to Makimono in Ajax (sucks) and Pickering (great) as well as Sushi and Rolls in Ajax (overpriced). The most important thing to me is a good miso soup and salmon ... terriyaki. This restaurant provided excellent taste in both departments. I brought my boyfriend from Mississauga to his place and we both concurred this place is the bomb! It is small unfortunately and the meals for ME take long to come but they made it worth it. I had salad with that sweet sauce, salmon terriyaki, spicy salmon rolls, California roll and miso soup. Magnifique!! The wait time and ice cream brought the score down to a four for me. I'll be going again. UPDATE*JULY 2016. The master chef is no longer there. Salmon/ food is just not the same, sadly. I came in and the lady working had this look on her face like she didn't want me there lol. I asked for a menu but then ended up having to pick one up myself. As I'm looking through the menu I noticed they didn't have unagi sushi which she ... insisted was on. Eventually after five minutes of looking I asked if I could continue ordering since I was starving. Food was actually not bad at all however the roll with avocado and unagi had thick skin still attached which was impossible to chew throught. That was absolutely disgusting. The chef also took longer than I've ever experienced in all of my shushI experiences making each roll. Delicious food for great deals and prices. The people are very friendly, and for a small sushi place, it offers a decent selection of items with quick service times. Great for quick stops and takeout, with a convenient location too! The restaurant itself seems a bit run-down and the furniture/decor could ... use some work, and perhaps the menu could grow to include a wider range of items, but still, I love to takeout from here whenever I'm in the area. Not sure what happened but the food was not even properly prepared. Oyoku Don dish was merely chicken and fried egg on rice with Teriyaki sauce? Somehow the Spicy Fish soup was good though.
