Cupcakes Canada - Ajax, Ontario

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised with these cupcakes! Cupcakes are my absolute favourite dessert. It's always shocking to me how disappointing cupcake shops usually are. I'd almost given up on cupcake shops but it was my moms birthday so I thought Id give this one a try ... since I had never been here before. I ordered 6 cupcakes for pick up. Cupcakes were ready on time with no hassle. I got Oreo, Red Velvet, and the speciality for the month Chocolate Covered Strawberries. I have to say the ones we've eaten so far have been delicious. The cake is actually moist and a good consistency and the icing has a good flavour. It is very sweet but I like sugary cupcakes. Good thing is you can have 1 and be satisfied! lol. I also enjoy the toppings they add to the cupcakes, it elevates the cupcakes and is an extra tasty treat. I did drop one star off as I was disappointed the chocolate covered strawberries didn't have the toppings on it like it showed in the picture online. It was for my moms bday so presentation mattered to me and she LOVES strawberries which is why I chose them, but other than that, I think this is my go to place from now on! Read more

I recently ordered a cake for a 25th anniversary party from Cupcakes Canada. Email correspondence was a little slow, but okay since I ordered about 3 weeks in advance. I wanted the bottom tier of the cake to look like the single layer cake in the pictures attached. The top ... was just supposed to be a messy buttercream. The cake itself was quite dense and sweet, similar to what the cupcakes tasted like if you've tried those. However, the workmanship on the cake did not match that of the pictures on their website. The rosettes and piping on the bottom tier was messy at times, I understand different piping consistencies of different colours but you could tell the icing wasn't smooth for a lot of the colours. I was told that they would be able to replicate the cake picture I sent for the bottom tier, and yet they did not even have a yellow icing colour and used a dark orange instead, which was saddening since yellow was a favourite colour of the couple and I wanted to have some in there (it looks yellow due to editing in the picture). Many at the party also pointed out that the top tier was crooked, which was embarassing as I got asked if I made it myself. I'm not sure if the cake turned out this way because it was not a wedding cake and thus didn't have as much time spent on it, but I was sad to receive a cake like this after having paid $160. We ordered our wedding cake from here and it was both beautiful and delicious. We opted for two tiers of oreo cookie cake and one tier of salted caramel. Thank you for the amazing customer service. We had a blast at the cake tasting.

Friendly staff and great cupcakes! We been to this location many times. And would def. recommend to everyone.

Cupcakes were very soft inside. Icing was delicious. Overall will get cupcakes from them again! They have many different flavours.
