The Galley: Downhome Eatery and Pub - Ajax, Ontario

This place was bumping on a Saturday night. Live music downstairs. We had drinks upstairs and the noise level from the band was perfect background music. Food all looked good, nice Newfie meals. Our waitress was super nice and on the ball.

This place isn’t student friendly at all. The chicken wings were good two years ago but they decided to change it to chicken nuggets. The fries were good two years ago as well. I found this place on Google when I was looking for a dinner spot close by and I was pleasantly surprised. The customer service was great and very friendly. The food was also great. We stayed and had a couple alcoholic beverages. The atmosphere was cozy. I'm ... sure they will need to expand. It's located in one of the old, historic Pickering Village semi-detached homes. Favourite place for dinner and craft beers. My boyfriend and I have made this place a regular stop and the friends we've brought along are in love. Homemade food is worth every penny and more. Huge portions and everything is fresh and delicious. Staff are great. Shout out to Phil our server ... the last two times. He's awesome. Adorable homestyle atmosphere with great music. Patio is fantastic. A quiet one man band was playing. Limited menu very pricy compared to other restaurants. Their daily specials on the board looked good and price was right.
